I wholeheartedly sympathize with this sentiment.  Spoilers?  How do you spoil a plot that's been in print for over a DECADE?!! Pick up a book, bitches.

"These are my thoughts on season 2. They are good thoughts."

Adam Warrock, creator of  remixes inspired by Futurama and Parks And Recreation, created this viral sensation just last week. The song has been stuck in my head every since.  It's worse than "It's a Small World."  I was absolutely delighted when I discovered that someone has created an extended cut.

Tutorial: All Natural Egg Coloring

It’s egg-dying time! Easter egg decorating is a fun way to welcome spring, but sometimes the chemical dyes are hard to justify. We chose our top three natural dye recipe posts from around the web to make bright Easter eggs this weekend:
Natural Easter Egg Dyes from Bon Apetit

DIY Diva: Natural food dyes for Easter from Mother Nature Network

Easter egg decorating is a fun way to welcome spring, but sometimes the chemical dyes are hard to justify, especially when you're feeding the results to children.  Here's a chart of natural dyes, and here are three natural dye recipes from around the web:

"I trucked most of my craft supplies with me on "vacation" in the desperate hope that I might finish these before Easter. After several late nights and only three trips to the craft store..."

Crafts: Black and White Easter Eggs

Black and White Easter Eggs by Cut, Tear, Stitch and Sew
"Covered some blown eggs in strips of newspaper using glue, painted the remaining eggs in chalkboard paint. Would be fun for children to draw faces on them or messages"

Quick Pic: Wind Waker Eggs

"Zelda themed eggs I painted for my flatmate for Easter. If you break them, a giant flying whale will appear and tell you the last significant part of your life has all been a dream, and you'll awaken on a floating shipwreck somewhere far away. True story. Happy Easter everyone!"

Tutorial: Easy Kool-Aid Dyed Eggs

"You know when you wait until the last minute to dye Easter eggs, and you go to the store, and there are only sad, broken eggs and an empty space where there used to be egg-dying kits? Yeah, that. I’m kind of that girl.

But if you’re that girl too then I have a brilliant idea for you! Actually, lots of people have had this brilliant idea but this is the first time I’ve tried it. And I’m going to break it down for you. So on the day before Easter when the dye is all gone, just go get some Kool-Aid and you’re golden."

Tutorial: Game of Thrones Dragon Eggs

"The Game of Thrones Season 3 premiere is coming up this Easter, totally upstaging the Easter bunny and all his absurd marshmallow regalia. This calendar alignment can only mean one thing: we are like, MEANT to make dragon egg Easter eggs. “WHERE ARE MY DRAGUNZ??” you ask. -Incubating in my doooope easter basket this year."

"My son is going through his Super Mario Bros. phase. I don't know that I ever got over mine. Playing Nintendo for countless hours is one of my fondest childhood memories. With Easter right around the corner, I thought I would surprise him with these Awesome Super Mario Nintendo Eggs.

I'm not an artist and I know these aren't perfect, but I think they still came out pretty cool. I used images from my iphone to replicate the  the Nintendo characters. I basically drew the images on with a pencil and then used Acrylic paint to fill them in. I used Sharpie Paint markers to fill in small details like the pupils."

This scene merges the mundane and the spectacular, and is a metaphor for all that is at once immense and insignificant."

Short Film: Premier Automne

"Premier Automne" directed by Carlos De Carvalho & Aude Danset

This poinant short is a beautiful exercise in animation technique, and it feels very much on topic as we approach Easter and the transition from winter into spring.
"Abel lives in the winter and Apolline lives in the summer. Isolated in their "natures", they never met each other. They are not even supposed to meet. So when Abel crosses the border and discovers Apolline, curiosity is overwhelming. Their encounter soon becomes more complicated than they could imagine. Both of them will have to learn compromise to protect the other..."

Short Film: The Ellington Kid

A classic British urban myth gets a twist in this tongue-in-cheek short from Vice.
"In a typical South London kebab shop Nathan tells Beefy a story. It's a story he's heard about the Ellington kid, who got stabbed and found refuge in the very kebab shop they are sitting in."

Street Art: 3D Graffiti

If you like this gallery, you may want to check out his work on cavas and his sculptures. Above is a mixture of artworks both old and new, and you can see much more over on Flickr and at Ayden Gallery.

Papercraft: Currency Collages

By carefully slicing up dollar bills and rearranging them into beautiful scenes of George Washington as an everyday man, Mark Wagner makes powerful statements about a culture dominated by money and greed. Wagner, founder of the Booklyn Artists Alliance, uses every detail of the dollar bill- from the pyramids, fire, flowers, seals and Masonic eye to the portrait of our founding father George Washington and the encrypted swirls.

Mosaic: Rubik’s Cube Mosaic

“Largest Rubik’s Cube Mosaic Ever Created” created by Cube Works Studio

Cube Works Studio set a new Guinness World Record for in the bizarrely specific “Largest Rubik’s Cube Mosaic Ever Created” category with an 85,794-cube depiction of China's Macau cityscape. The mural stands thirteen feet high and runs for over two hundred feet down the wall.  The mosaic breaks Cube Works Studio's previous record, which was set by a 12,090-cube recreation of the Sistine Chapel ceiling.  Read more about this feat at The Huffington Post.

Ghost Mice are a 'FIRST-WAVE folk-punk band' who sing about playing Dungeons & Dragons as a metaphor for overcoming depression, wanting to be loved like John Hickley loved Jodie Foster and recycling so Cthulhu doesn't invade. They've recorded splits with other folk-punk bands like Andrew Jackson Jihad and Defiance Ohio. Ghost Mice's song Monsters Get Slain is a heartbreaking anthem about healing from a lifetime of depression.

Short Film: 23 Degrees 5 Minutes

"23 Degrees 5 Minutes" directed by Darragh O'Connell of Brownbagfilms

Easter is altogether the wrong time of year for this film, but it's too good to pass up.
"An old explorer close to freezing in the Arctic re-lives the events that brought him there in the first place. He recalls his student days at Trinity College in Dublin when he studied under the enigmatic Professor Orit, the professor who was driven to madness by his obsessive pursuit of the unified theory. Convinced that the answer somehow lay in the relationship between the numbers two, three and five, Professor Orit's obsession started the journey which has led his former student to the top of the world."

This odd little piece of luggage a portable space that contains everything necessary for a minimal room: a desk, a lamp, a stool, a shelf, and a locker. World War Z by Matt Ferguson

An online gang of artists calling themselves the The Print Posse have created a series of amazing movie posters for the upcoming Brad Pitt movie World War Z, based on the excellent Max Brooks novel of the same name.  The posters come in response to the official trailer, and so far, they beat the hell out of all the official promotional materials.  It sort of makes me wonder why Hollywood doesn't save itself some money by just holding contests when the time comes for marketing material.

All of these posters were originally created for a challenge issued / organized by "The challenge was to create an image for a movie that they had not seen yet and had limited visual assets available."

An art show at the Smart Clothes Gallery in New York City April 14 - 23 2013
"‘Shell Game’ is comprised of nine, 6'x4' paintings and one 3’x3’ painting about the revolutions and crises of 2011 (six of which have already been sold to collectors) including the mortgage bubble, the Greek anti-austerity protests, and Occupy Wall Street, filtered them through the artist’s distinctive lens of surrealism, satire, and symbolic animals and, for eight of nine paintings, informed by travel to the settings, including Spain, Greece, and the United Kingdom, during which she interviewed activists for her reported illustrated journalism pieces and participated in demonstrations. For Tunisia, she interviewed members of Nawaat, the dissident blogger collective, via Skype. Nine preliminary watercolors, all sold, will also be exhibited."

Illustration: Hand Drawn Map of London

Anna Butler is the chief designer at Wellingtons Travel. She is an artist and architect by trade and of British-Polish descent. Taige Zhang is a lover of travel, history, and maps; also a cartographer. They started working on creating a hand drawn vintage but modern old London map in 2008.

"We believe in the beauty, allure and craftsmanship of old maps. In 2008, we started researching remarkable maps from the 16th to 19th Century from legendary explorers and cartographers such as Joan Blaeu, Captain James Cook, and Joseph Cross. Drawing qualities and inspiration from city maps by British cartographers of the early 1800s, we began work on the Grand Map of London using various existing up-to-date geographic data sources including those from open street map.

As a hobby and business, we produce maps of modern cities in historic, beautiful 1800s style. Our maps are made to enchant anyone who loves history and appreciates art. Some of our top customers include City of London, bookshops, galleries and hotels."
